Overview:
A static media tutorial regarding the creation of custom curated e-zines using Flipboard
Work description:
Screen capture, step by step process description and annotation
Learner target:
Instructors and educational technology professionals, but suitable for any end-user
Technology employed:
Clarify, Flipboard
Theoretical foundations:
With information processing and cognitive load theories in mind, I specifically opted to develop a static tutorial for this instructional topic. While video tutorials are inevitably too fast or too slow and necessitate irksome fast forwarding or rewinding, a static tutorial allows the user to easily move through multi-step processes at their own pace. The chosen application, Clarify, further aids the cause by naturally chunking each process step into distinct sections and incorporating strong CRAP principles in its default formatting.
